Via Dolorosa

(The Nuance)
Jamison M. Pettyjohn

Jesse's (Tim's friend) picture taken along the actual Via Dolorosa

Written in an attempt to deal with a struggle of faith in life being just a random, cruel and uncaring turn of events or possibly one with a much bigger picture that we can't see yet. Or maybe we're only equipped to see the smallest pieces of the puzzle for fear of overloading our limited comprehension of all there is to understand of this life? I do know that ultimate suffering can get the better of even the best of men when you've seen the worst of what life can throw at you, or a loved one.

"my God my God I can't believe the news, it's far worse than my worst dream come true when you wake and that first thought it's always the same, where do you go? what do you do with today?

given more than one man can take down the Via Dolorosa you just might break

my God my God I'm really starting to wonder, what I believed before is now pulling me under, is there enough time to heal a wound this size, ripped away from him like a thief in the night

my God my God are you still there? is it any wonder we ask if you still care, but not him   he's up again, into the light he's putting back together the pieces of a broken life"
